Tree Planting

Expert tree selection and nursery-grade planting backed by second-generation arboricultural knowledge. From specimen tree installation to proper staking and aftercare, 3V plants trees chosen to thrive in Northern Utah for decades, not just survive the first season. Rich's nursery heritage informs every selection and every planting detail.

    Rooted in Nursery Heritage

Rich grew up working on his father's tree farm and nursery, so tree selection is in 3V's DNA. We know which species handle Weber County's alkaline soils, winter burn, and wind exposure, and which popular choices fail within a decade. That experience means we steer you toward trees that will thrive at maturity, properly spaced and oriented for sun and wind. A tree is a decades-long commitment, and the right species for your site is the single most important decision, far more important than how it's planted, though we nail that too.

    Specimen & Large Tree Installation

With our own excavators, skid steers, and trucks, we handle specimen and large-caliper tree installs that smaller crews can't. Proper planting depth, root-ball handling, and backfill amendment are non-negotiable: planting too deep kills more trees than any disease. We stake only when necessary and remove stakes on schedule to encourage strong, independent trunk growth. Our equipment lets us place large trees precisely, without the damage that comes from hand-digging or under-equipped crews, and we own it all outright so there are no rental delays on delivery day.

    Long-Term Arboricultural Care

A tree is a 50-year investment, and the first two years determine its trajectory. Every 3V planting includes a care plan: watering schedule, mulch guidelines, pruning timing, and staking removal. We're available for follow-up assessments and can build ongoing care into a maintenance relationship so your trees mature into the landscape you envisioned. Proper early care, including the right watering, mulch depth, and pruning timing, is what turns a newly planted tree into a healthy, long-lived centerpiece of your yard.
